Dirty Laces are a 4-piece alternative rock / post-punk group from Manchester, UK. Over their career they have played countless sold out shows in their hometown at prestigious venues including Gorilla, Salford Lads Club and Deaf Institute. This has led to their billing at major festivals around the UK, making the lineup for Kendal Calling, Sound City, Wheels and Fins, Hardwick Festival and more. With this traction behind them the band have been invited to open up for some legends of the music industry such as Inspiral Carpets and Pete Doherty, and have had their single ‘You’ remixed by Loz Colbert (Ride, Charlatans).
Their music has not fallen on deaf ears, they have been championed by 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins finding themselves played on national airwaves frequently alongside local stations such as XS Manchester, for whom they have played live on air for. Their debut album ‘Blink For Nothing’ offers a wild, unapologetic ride through ethereal atmospheres whilst maintaining the bands raw authenticity.
John Denton, a talented singer/songwriter from Salford, has been making waves in the music scene with his heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies. Despite being only 16, John has been featured in NME, Far Out, BBC NW Tonight, Granada Reports, BBC 5 Live, BBC Radio Manchester and XS Manchester. His journey took a significant leap forward in 2023 when he won the prestigious Johnny Marr Award, earning the support and mentorship of Johnny Marr himself. Most recently, he was selected to play for ‘The Boss’ himself, Bruce Springsteen. As well as getting the seal of approval from The Boss, he also shared his music with The Edge from U2. John initially gained recognition as the frontman of the band The Height, releasing several singles that collectively amassed over 25,000 streams. His music resonates with a growing audience, reflected in his substantial online following: amassing 1.3m views on Tiktok with 4k followers.
