Halifax Festival of Music & Words: Future Roots: Doogle + Grow

Friday 18th October 2024

8:30pm

Never has there been a year when Halifax has had so many young bands releasing debut singles & we are delighted to have 2 of them play as part of Culture Dale celebrations.
Doogle is a folky indie-pop artist rising in West Yorkshire.
With captivating poetic lyricism, paired with upbeat instrumentals and cracking dance moves, there is sure to be something for you at a Doogle show.
After Starting as a solo project from the mind of Joe Robinson, a drummer and bassist have joined the cause to provide a fleshed out, full band experience, full of in your face, upbeat tunes.
Releasing a debut album earlier this year, and paying venues such as Manchester Academy 3, The Jacaranda and The Parish, Doogle has been taking his glowsticks all over the north of the UK, steadily building a fanbase built for all.

This genre-busting Halifax quartet burst into life in early 2023 and they don’t look like slowing down any time soon.
Picking up the baton from heroes such as Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and Neil Young, it’s evident that the group have stumbled upon a secret formula of their own.
Grow are Jack Wilson (lead vocals and bass guitar), Luke Bradley (vocals and guitar), Harry Shackleton (vocals and piano) and Isaac Brierley (drums).
Free entry though donations to our Future Roots programme will be asked for.
