A few months ago we heard the first recordings of a young band from Halifax called Grow. It had taken them about a year to save up the money to get the recording done. I asked to listen to it & having seen the band live I thought the recordings reflected their potential. Their plan was to just try get them on streaming platforms. Well that’s where the idea of Grayston Unity Records came from. Its aim is simply to try and help a young band progress by being signed by management/label/agents by releasing their music on our label in a 12 month period.  It’s a completely altruistic endeavour on our part and I’d love it if at the very least you give the first 2 tracks to be released a listen & any mention in the YP would be great. We are working with Launchpad to help us/them.
It’s getting harder and harder for young artists to even get to a chance of progressing these days due to costs & the lack of venues to play, this is our little attempt to help.
Their debut single is released on 24th January (digital & 7 inch vinyl), followed by 2 further releases in the year (the last being a full ep). They will be launching via a support to The Bug Club in IVW.  We’ve got 6 Music airplay at the end of January.
