BRITISH BIRDS + The Short Causeway

British Birds
Chorley based British Birds is a musical collaboration with a DIY ethic and nostalgic charm, rubber-banding us back to physical music creation which stretches the listeners ear and snaps them back to a familiar reality. This 5 piece dedicate themselves to the whole package, from the artwork, to screen printing merch, to recording, producing and releasing their own craft. Supported by Marc Riley, BBC introducing Lancs and Louder Than War Magazine, they combine jangly catchy hooks, lullaby-like melody and sobering melancholy on a cosy bed of analogue synth bass. Ex members of Cactus Knife, Mums and Big Pixie bring timeless psych-rock with hints of Neutral Milk Hotel, The Vaselines and Ty Segall

“It’s a really great album, got a real 60s Kinks Psych vibe on it […] Beatuiful stuff […] Keep your ears and eyes peeled to Louder Than War this week and I’ll have my review of the album up there, really really great new band to discover, wish them a lot of luck with that debut album”

“For all the twitchers out there, these are definitely birds to keep an eye on. What an opening statement of psych joy they have produced on their debut album.”
nstalled gratetully as a very unofticial house band of the stalwart village live venue, The Trades Club, over the past year, The Short Causeway’s exposure as a support band in front of curious and expectant audiences, as well as for the remarkable artists passing through or calling the valley home, has shaped their own, restless, boundary-free sound.
